It is a good movie. Fairly historically accurate, though highly speculative. Yeah, he was in love with Clyde Clyde Tolson. That said, if he ever had sex with a man the KGB and the CIA did not catch him. They were trying to. Bill Donovan told the KGB that he was gay and that he was probably in love with Clyde Tolson and they were probably sleeping together and practically dared them to catch him.

Bill really, really disliked Edgar. Hated is the better word. And wild Bill Donovan was completely insane and really tried to catch Edgar having sex with a guy so he could get him fired. Also Bill made up the cross dressing stuff. Most likely Edgar didn’t ever do that.

So, long and short if we were to bring back Edgar from the dead and show him this movie he would likely beat up whoever showed him the movie and then kill himself again because all his secrets were out. Crossdressing stuff aside.
